Just as we thought we were busy enough, we decided to apply for a grant to help us increase capacity at the dairy to keep up with the ever increasing demand!
After a LOT of paperwork we finally got the go-ahead from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development to order the shiny new equipment (like a kid at Christmas!) We purchased two bigger ovens, a semi-automatic depositor and a chiller so we can start trialling our next product which is yet to be announced, partially because we haven’t started making it yet!!
It all seems to have happened at once, but just in time for this busy summer period where clotted cream and strawberries are number one on everyone’s shopping list, and we are now just about keeping up with demand, for now anyway.
Did you see us at the Royal Cheshire Show? We managed to set up stand just for Wednesday in the Agri-Centre (we were too busy to do both days unfortunately!) and had a brilliant day, we gave out over 1,200 samples of Cheshire clotted cream to lots of new and existing customers. We will certainly be there for the full show next year we promise!
We are also very excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Cheshire Life Food & Drink awards for the Producer of the year award, even to have been shortlisted is a huge honour as food and drink in Cheshire is at such a high level at the moment, it really means a lot to be in the final three for this award. The award presentation night will be held on the 15th July at Nunsmere Hall, an evening which we are most looking forward to.
